Making Music More Accessible

At Avant-Garde Music, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment of learning music.

We understand that the cost of music lessons can sometimes be a challenge, particularly for families facing financial difficulties and seniors living on a fixed income. That's why we're developing discount and assistance programs designed to make private music lessons more accessible to members of our community.

From senior discounts to financial hardship assistance and our proposed AGM Music Access Fund, our goal is to help more people discover and pursue their musical potential.

Senior Discount

At Avant-Garde Music, we believe it’s never too late to experience the joy and fulfillment of learning music. Whether you’re returning to an instrument or beginning for the first time, private music lessons offer a rewarding opportunity for creativity, personal growth, and enjoyment at any age.

Our Senior Discount offers adults age 65 and older 10% off regular lesson rates. We want to make it easier for seniors to continue learning, explore a new instrument, or rediscover a lifelong passion for music—all from the comfort of home.

For seniors experiencing additional financial hardship, further assistance may be available through our proposed AGM Music Access Fund. More information about eligibility and how to apply will be provided as the program is finalized.

Financial Hardship Discount

At Avant-Garde Music, we believe financial challenges shouldn't prevent children from discovering the joy of music. We understand that raising a family can be expensive, and the cost of extracurricular activities can sometimes put music lessons out of reach.

Our proposed Financial Hardship Discount offers eligible families experiencing financial difficulties 10% off regular lesson rates, helping make private, in-home music lessons more affordable. Families may qualify by receiving government assistance or by providing documentation demonstrating financial hardship.

For families facing more significant financial challenges, additional assistance may be available through our proposed AGM Music Access Fund. Program eligibility requirements and application details will be announced once the programs are finalized.

AGM Music Access Fund

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of music education, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. That's why we're developing the AGM Music Access Fund, a proposed initiative designed to help families experiencing significant financial hardship afford private, in-home music lessons.

In addition to the 10% Financial Hardship Discount, eligible families may qualify for further assistance through the fund, based on household income, family size, essential living expenses, and other financial circumstances.

Proposed assistance levels are based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines:

  • At or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines: Potential coverage of the remaining lesson cost after the 10% discount.

  • Above 100% and up to 150%: Potential additional assistance equal to 40% of the original lesson price.

  • Above 150% and up to 200%: Potential additional assistance equal to 20% of the original lesson price.

The additional assistance percentages are calculated using the regular lesson price before the 10% discount is applied.

Assistance is subject to available funding. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received, and assistance can only be awarded while funds remain available. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or funding. If funds are exhausted, eligible applicants may need to wait until additional funding becomes available.

Our goal is to make music education accessible to more children while treating every family's circumstances with care and respect. Program requirements and application details will be announced once the fund is finalized.

Help Make Music Possible

Every student deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, confidence, and lifelong benefits of music education. With community support, we can help make that opportunity accessible to more families.

Contributions to the AGM Music Access Fund will help provide music lessons to eligible students and seniors who might otherwise face financial barriers. Together, we can make a meaningful difference, one student at a time.
